Dear Connect Families,
Connect Charter is proud to continue the tradition of supporting cancer research through our participation in the Terry Fox Run! Our aim is to encourage leadership in our students and create positive agents of change in our community; to continue our mission of Developing Students as Extraordinary Citizens.
As a member of our community, we happily invite you to join us on October 2nd for the event. It is to be an event dedicated to Terry’s vision, a Marathon of Hope. Hope is the vision, and through our participation and donation we celebrate the strides made to combat cancer and celebrate life. Come celebrate with us, and if time permits, join our Parent Council meeting happening on the same morning.
Your Child’s Terry Fox Run Schedule All Grade 4, 5 and 6 Students will attend a presentation in the main gym at 10:45am. Our presentation from the Terry Fox Foundation comes from none other than Ken Larson, a former schoolmate of Terry Fox, as well as public speaker and executive coach. Following the presentation we hope to be in the field running by 11:10 till noon! If you decide to attend the Parent Council meeting, it ends at 11am, which means you have plenty of time to cheer on our avid citizens as they continue Terry’s legacy of hope and optimism.

Finally, while we have certainly discussed Terry and his Marathon of Hope in our own classrooms, we encourage you to continue the conversation at home. We have placed a few links below that provide some background and general information, but if you have your own personal stories, we would love for you to share them with your child, and in turn, allow them to become part of our greater school conversations and experiences. Thank you.
Sincerely,
PE Team
