Our current playground has been well-loved for over 15 years but it’s now reaching the end of its safe and usable life. When our equipment breaks, it often can’t be repaired or replaced, so it must be removed. A new playground will mean safe, longer-lasting equipment, quicker repairs, and a design that continues to include accessible pieces for all students.
Over the course of several student consultation sessions, feedback was gathered on the desired playground design. This new and inclusive design will serve students in Grades 4–9 for years to come. BDI Play Designs has been selected as the builder and we expect construction to take place in Spring 2027.
The playground renewal project is estimated to cost $500,000. This will come from a variety of sources including: community grants, parent donations, school council and student-led fundraisers. Throughout the school year our school community will have a number of opportunities to get involved.
