  • Parent Volunteers maintenance: Recording police clearances, distributing police clearances via form and procedure, filing police clearances, monitoring and providing support to teachers/parents, maintaining current spreadsheet and logging information into PowerSchool, assisting in organizing volunteers for large events (Spring and Fall camps).

  • Additional Office Support duties as needed (eg. Yearbooks, mail, courier distribution, supplies assistance, etc.)

Please include the following in your application: a cover letter, resume and 2 references including your most recent supervisor. Prior to start date, this job requires a criminal record check with vulnerable sector search.  This documentation is not necessary for the interview.  Applications must be submitted to [email protected]  with the subject line: Office Assistant Position, and include attachments in one PDF document.  We thank everyone who applies, but only candidates who will be interviewed will be contacted.  Interviews will begin on September 25th, 2023.

Please note – We are moving our first meeting from September 20 to October 2. We made the change to accommodate those away at fall camps. Also, the new date coincides with the Terry Fox Run, which gives parents the chance to come cheer on their kids after the meeting. Timing will be advised soon!

Connect’s biggest fundraising event of the year is coming up and we have 36 volunteer shifts to fill.
Shifts run Sunday Oct 22 and Monday Oct 23 from 11am-7:30pm or 7:15pm-3:30/4am or 11pm-4am. Each of these shifts require 6 people to fill positions, so please consider bringing a friend or two, and passing the time together. Or try to recruit a group from your class, pod or grade and get to know some other parents! Note, you may volunteer for more than one shift but must keep the same position. Positions available: General Manager, Banker, Cashier, Chiprunner, Countroom Supervisor and Courtroom Staff.

Please email the Parent Society at [email protected] if you’d like to sign up. If you have a preference of positions, let us know. If you’ve been a past volunteer at camps, field trips, school activities or on a parent committee, please include that info in the email.

Fill your freezer in October by ordering from our upcoming Meat Sale! Tasty offerings from Spolumbo’s Sausage and Bow River Meats have been popular with Connect families for several years. Online sales will be open soon and the pickup takes place after school on Wednesday October 25th. Buy early and share with your friends and family!

If you read this far, you’re probably thinking, “Wow, October is going to be busy!”. Nonetheless, you definitely don’t want to miss our Movie Night and accompanying Parent Program on Thursday, Oct 19th. Students will be voting on the movie in the coming weeks, and we’re also developing ideas for the Parent Program – so stay tuned for more information! Just like last year, we’ll offer families the chance to pre-order dinner and movie treats, making this an easy weeknight event for everyone.
