This Week's Highlights

A reminder that November 10th is a Professional Development day and there will be no school for students.
Connect Charter School's Remembrance Day ceremony will take place at 10:30 on November 9th.
There was an excellent turn out for the online grade 4-6 math information night. Resources can be found in the section below.
Our grade 4's and 7's enjoyed their first Thrive day at the FEC. 5.1 and 5.2 head out on Monday, November 6th and 5.3 and 5.4 on Tuesday, November 7th. The Grade 8.1 and 8.2 students will attend their Thrive day on Wednesday, November 8th.
Bus riders will engage in a practice bus evacuation on Tuesday, November 7th. This involves students departing from the emergency exit at the back of the bus and then the bus driver checking attendance.
Grade 9 families, we invite you to attend the high school session, which will also include a brief overview of the grade 9 spring trip. This will take place in person at the school on Thursday, November 23rd at 6:00 p.m.

Field Experience Update

I am pleased to report that we have made significant progress with construction projects at the FEC. In the coming weeks, power and data services will spread through our site, making it safer and more accessible. Beginning next week, we are upgrading the road from the black gate to our site. As a result, we are asking all vehicles to park in the public parking area. Parking in this area requires a Kananaskis Conservation Park Pass. Volunteers are asked to submit their receipts to [email protected]. There will be ambulance access to our site at all times.

MOVIE NIGHT & PARENT PROGRAM

“Parenting Through the Messiness of Family Life”

Join us for an opportunity to connect with other Connect Parents, while learning some key steps to support our kids in gaining more confidence. Parenting Mentor, Julie Freedman Smith will share practical, tactical and personal strategies for us to take home and use with our families.

Thursday, Nov 30: 5:15pm (dinner), 6:15pm (movie & program begins)

Students are voting on their choice of movies this week. Stay tuned for the results!

Dinner & Snacks can be preordered (limited cash sales for snacks will be offered) in advance. Online sales will be open soon!
