“Parenting Through the Messiness of Family Life”
Connect with other parents through this engaging discussion lead by Parenting Mentor, Julie Freedman Smith.

  • With everything going on at home, it’s easy to get stuck doing all the day-to-day minutiae without making time
  • Connecting with our kids (when they sometimes won’t even talk to us)
  • Teaching great habits to support their learning, both at school and at home
  • Supporting their emotional strength
  • Building independence

This session will provide an opportunity for group discussions, open Q&A, and tips for you to get clear on how to help your child through the messy emotional times while they gradually build courage and strength to take on new challenges.

We look forward to seeing you there!

LOOKING AHEAD: Scholastic Book Fair coming Dec. 6-8
The Learning Commons will become a bookstore during Student-Led Conferences next month. This pop-up sale raises funds for our library and also gives you the opportunity to buy books for your child’s classroom. Volunteer shifts available – look for a signup soon!

This year’s Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week is November 20 – 24, 2023, with the theme “Where to Turn.” In recognition of this important week, Education has partnered with Children and Family Services to host a Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week Virtual Speaker Series.

We look forward to seeing you there!

I invite all students, staff and parents to tune in to the Virtual Speaker Series on Friday November 24 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. This virtual event will feature speakers Teddy Manywounds and Sheldon Kennedy, who will share their unique stories and experiences with bullying behaviours. The speaker series will be followed by a live question and answer period – so come prepared with your questions!

Registration information for the live event can be found here (https://form.jotform.com/233115221124034). For those who cannot tune in live, a recording will be posted at alberta.ca/bullying-awareness-week (https://www.alberta.ca/bullying-awareness-week) following the live event.

Have a wonderful week, Connect!
