SCHOOL COUNCIL & PARENT SOCIETY UPDATE

No news is good news! We’ve had a successful series of fundraisers and community engagements this fall, and are really enjoying the energy around family involvement!
However…. we do need a few dedicated parents to step into positions on the School Council executive and as Parent Society directors. As students graduate from Connect, transition is always in mind. Please consider joining to shadow an event or contact us at schoolcouncil@connectcharter.ca to simply learn more about available positions. There are a variety of choices and time commitments – this is YOUR school too and you can shape how things get done! We welcome your time, past experiences and ideas for building a strong, supportive base here at Connect.

Bottle Drive Next Thursday!

Thursday, December 12, 2024

From 8:15am to 9:15am

Dear Parents,

The 8.2 class is attempting to raise some funds for an Outdoor Education trip. They are eager to work to earn this trip. As part of their efforts they have organized a Drive Through Bottle Drive for Thursday, December 12, 2024. The homeroom that earns the most points from this bottle drive will win a class pizza party. There is also a prize for the student who brings the most bottles. There are three ways to participate in this event.

  1. Send bottles in with your student on December 9-11th and give them to Mr. Cadman. He will record homeroom, award points and store the bottles.
  2. Drive your bottles to school on December 12, between 8:15am and 9:15 am. Pull into the alley immediately after the bus zone where students from 8.2 will happily unload your vehicle.
  3. Bring bagged bottles to the gym during student led conferences on Dec 12, or Dec. 13. Student volunteers will award and record points earned for your students homeroom.

Please fill in the form below before dropping off your bottles to speed up the process. Prizes are handed out to the individual who contributes the most and a pizza party is awarded to the class that brings in the most amount of bottles.
