This Week's Highlights

  • There is no school for students on April 28th. A large cohort of our staff will be working with Dr. Sharon Friesen from the Werklund School of Education related to best teaching practices.
  • Last night there was a tremendous turnout of students and parents for the movie night/parenting session. Thank you to the volunteers on school council and parent society for their vision, planning and organization of this well attended event.
  • The Minister of Education, Adriana LaGrange announced the exciting news about the Charter HUB location. This will be Connect Charter's new campus for grade 7, 8, and 9 students for the 2023-2024 school year, and a shared location with STEMIA high school. High school programming for grade 10 will begin in August 2024. If you were unable to attend either of the webinars about expansion, parents will have access to the webinar recording in an email from Chris Gilmour.
  • School Council/Parent Society meeting and AGM is scheduled for Tuesday, April 25th from 6:30-7:30. A link will be shared with families on Tuesday. An update from School Council and Parent Society can be found below.
  • Grade 6 Spring Camp Parent Information webinar is scheduled on Monday, April 24th from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. A link will be provided on Monday afternoon.
  • Please note that re-registration opened on April 17th and will close on April 28th. Once registration closes, we can begin the work to plan transportation for both campuses for next school year.
  • Badminton Championships will take place on April 26th. We congratulate all students who have participated in the badminton double competitions this past week.
  • The Connect Charter Store is open with some new options. Check it out below.
Outdoor education leadership students rode their bikes from the Lakeview campus to the University of Calgary to attend the minister's announcement of the new charter school hub location.
THANK YOU to everyone who participated and helped make last night’s MOVIE NIGHT a great success! It was wonderful to connect with parents and to see families (and future Connect Charter students) enjoying the movie. We hope to continue these events! TUESDAY APRIL 25 SCHOOL COUNCIL & PARENT SOCIETY AGM
Join us at 6:30pm for a virtual meeting. At the Annual General Meetings, we will be electing new directors for each group. ANYONE who is a parent of a student may volunteer for the role. The meeting will also include update from the Administration.
We’d love to get some additional people involved for our next exciting and transformational year!

Our school store will be opening for the last time this year.  It will be open beginning Monday, April 24 and closing midnight, May 7.  Delivery of product will be approximately the end of May.  We do have some exciting new choices so be sure to check out the store.
