Wednesday, September 30 — School Closed – Truth and Reconciliation Day
This Wednesday is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Because students are out for the day, we will observe this as a school day on Tuesday, September 29. Students should wear orange shirts, and teachers will explore ideas connected to Orange Shirt Day in class.
Our Terry Fox Run is happening on Monday, September 28th! Students are encouraged to wear their light blue Connect T-shirts for the event. We are looking forward to coming together as a school community to honour Terry Fox and his legacy of courage, perseverance, and hope. Students in Peaks 4 Progress will be selling freezies during lunch on Monday, Sept. 28th. All proceeds will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation. $1.50/freezie. Cash only.

Movie Night and Parent Session
It’s happening Thursday October 22 so MARK YOUR CALENDAR!
Connect Charter & School Council will be hosting a movie night and parent session that starts at 6:15 pm.
As in past events you can drop your child off in the gym for a movie and head to our Learning Commons to participate in our parent session. Plan to come straight from work? We will have food ordering options coming soon through HealthyHunger (our FunLunch platform). Stay tuned for our movie selection!!
How do children develop the confidence to say, “This is hard, but I can handle it?”
As children seek greater independence, parents face an ongoing question: When do I step in—and when do I step back?
Drawing on 15 years of working outdoors with children at Canmore Forest Play, we’ll explore how challenge, appropriate risk, outdoor experiences and child-led problem solving can build confidence, resilience, creativity and independence.
Expect stories, practical ideas and plenty to think about—including when helping becomes rescuing, how much challenge children really need, and how we can give them the space to struggle, take risks, make mistakes and discover what they’re capable of.
