Connect Parent Session Overview:  Staying Connected When It’s Hard: Supporting Kids Through Mistakes and Missteps

Parenting through the tough moments—when kids hurt others, struggle with shame, lose friendships, or avoid hard feelings—it can be challenging and emotional. This interactive workshop will explore how to support children through these experiences with empathy and calm regulation.

Parents will have the opportunity to discuss real-life scenarios, reflect on ways to respond rather than react, and learn practical tools for helping children navigate anger and conflict. Behavioural therapist (Cassidy Brown) will share strategies for co-regulation and emotional repair, while Speech-Language Pathologist  (Ryan Szarko)  will offer insights into supporting social language and communication during difficult moments.

Together, we’ll look at how to turn struggle into growth and strengthen the connection between home and school in guiding kids toward resilience and accountability.

Together, We Can Rebuild Play
After 15+ years of fun, our playground is ready for renewal. Some equipment can’t be repaired, and piece by piece, it’s disappearing. But together, we can build something better — a playground that’s safe, lasting, and accessible for all students.
Everyone can help.
This Giving Tuesday (Dec 2), we’re asking every student to “Give Me 5!” — just $5 (or spare change!) to help build a new, safe, and accessible playground for everyone. Students who give will have their name added to our Donor Wall inside the school!
PLUS
Right now, your donation can go twice as far!
Thanks to generous matching donors, EVERY dollar given between now and December 31, 2025 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000 toward our $50,000 goal for the play equipment. (Please note this is a portion of the overall fundraising goal for the new playground)
