We kindly ask our parents to let the office know about absences or late arrivals prior to 8:30 a.m. Teacher homeroom attendance is taken promptly at 8:40am which is the school start time. Any attendance updates received or iPad sign-ins after school start time may receive an automated notification of an absence.
Welcome back to our students who have returned from their grade 4/5 Urban Expedition. Thank you to the volunteers and staff who supported the trip.
We had numerous elective field trips this week. Thanks to all of the parent volunteers who help us to make these experiences possible.
Fun Lunch- Panago - Tuesday, November 18th.
Help us give our students leadership opportunities! Is technology a challenge for someone you know? Connect is partnering with the MPC Foundation to help! On Wednesday, November 19th at 10:00 AM, volunteer Grade 8 students will offer a "Tech Buddy Program" at the Lakeview Community Centre. They will provide tech help and lessons to older adults (age 55 and above) to help them become used to computers and other digital devices. If you know anyone interested, please have them contact the MPC Foundation directly to sign up at 587-480-7373 or [email protected].
Connect Charter School will be hosting a charter school leadership professional learning day related to Artificial Intelligence on Tuesday, November 18.
Grade 9's will have Junior Achievement (financial literacy) this Friday, November 21⋅9:00am – 12:00pm
School Council & Parent Society Meeting - online Tuesday, November 18⋅6:30 – 7:30pm. The link will be shared on the day of the meeting.
We are looking forward to a drama production at our school this week. No Time for That- Anti-Bullying Presentation (Grades 4-9) Wednesday, November 19.
Some students have signed up for the Canadian Jay Mathematical Competition: this will take place on Thursday, November 20⋅12:00 – 3:00pm

Scholastic Holiday Wish Guide To order Scholastic books using a class code, go to the Scholastic Book Clubs website scholastic.ca, sign in or create an account, and enter the class code (RC838205) provided by the school. You can also enter the code during checkout if you miss it during sign-in. The class code will ensure your child's order is shipped to their classroom and earns rewards for the school.

Our playground has brought joy to students for more than 15 years — but it’s showing its age. When parts break, they often can’t be replaced, and slowly, the space is shrinking. A new playground means safer, longer-lasting equipment, and inclusive play for every child.

Right now, your donation can go twice as far!

Thanks to generous matching donors, EVERY dollar given between now and December 31, 2025 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000 toward our $50,000 goal for the play equipment. (Please note this is a portion of the overall fundraising goal for the new playground)

Dear Parents,

Peaks for Progress is a student run leadership initiative.

Next Wednesday, Nov. 19th, they will be collecting money for a Bonus fun lunch. This is the first of five Bonus Fun lunches offered by Peaks for Progress.

The Menu:

– All beef hot dog & bun

-Snapple Drink (473ml)

– Kiwi Strawberry

– Peach Tea

– Lemon Tea

– Vegi Dog (available upon request)

-Gluteen Free Bun (available upon request)

-Ketchup & Mustard

Student leaders will be in the IAC at Recess and Lunch on Nov. 19th to take lunch orders and cash payment. Please note that online payment is in the works for future events. November 27 Movie Night and Parent Session!

Connect Charter is hosting a Movie Night and Parent session on Thursday November 27! We invite you to order dinner through Healthy Hunger (if you like), bring the kids for some movie fun (leave them at the gym!) then head up to the learning commons for a super interesting evening with Cassidy Brown and Ryan Szarko (two service providers who students with behavioural therapy and communication therapy.)

School Council Meeting – Nov 18th

Come and attend a school council meeting and find out about what’s going on in the school from our Principal and your school council. Meeting link will go out to all members the afternoon of the meeting.

TEXAS DONUTS ARE COMING!!
