Important Updates

Thank you to the families who drop off their children on 34th street. This has made a tremendous difference for the safety of our students.
With the colder temperatures, we remind families to not leave children unattended at bus stops. Please be aware that road conditions may mean bus delays. We appreciate everyone's patience related to our winter commutes.
Please support your child in coming to school prepared for the weather. The annual Polar Bear Club form was sent to families. By signing your child up for Polar Bear Club, they are welcome to go outdoors between (with windchill) -20 degrees celsius and -25 degrees celsius, as long as they are dressed for the conditions. The cut-off for outdoor recess is -20 degrees celsius with windchill. Please note some outdoor field trips may be cancelled or rescheduled when conditions are too cold.

A reminder that our previous student-led conferences which were typically scheduled for mid-December will take place in the New Year and include the parent-teacher format. This adjustment was based on parent and staff feedback. There will be both in-person and online opportunities.

Peaks For Progress is hosting 1 more hot dog fun lunch before the winter break.

This will be the second of five planned hotdog fun lunches.

Peaks for Progress is a student run leadership initiative.

The Menu:

– All beef hot dog & bun

-Chubby Soda (250ml)

– Grape

– Blueberry Blast

– Pineapple Sunshine

– Go Bananas

– Vegi Dog (available upon request)

-Gluten Free Bun (available upon request)

-Ketchup & Mustard provided

There are two ways to order:

1. Order ONLINE using the link and pay through e-transfer: Hot Dog Order Form Form closes Thursday, Dec. 11, 11:59pm.

2. Students can order IN PERSON on Wednesday, Dec. 3rd in the IAC. Cash Only

Student leaders will be in the IAC at Lunch to take lunch orders and cash payment.

Clearly labeled food will be delivered to classrooms on Wednesday, Dec. 10th.

Giving Tuesday is Only Days Away! Let’s Build Something Amazing Together

Giving Tuesday is almost here — and our school is coming together to build a new, safe, and accessible playground for every student to enjoy!

This Tuesday, students can “Give Me 5!” by bringing $5 (or spare change) to school. Every student who donates will have their name added to our Donor Wall — a lasting symbol of their contribution.

Parents can join in, too! Donations made toward the playground between now and December 31, 2025 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000 — doubling your impact on the place our kids love most.

Our Movie Night and Parent session on Thursday night was a hit! Thank you to those parents and staff who participated. We also want to say THANK YOU to Megan and Alina who organized and set up the event, without them the evening would not have been possible!

Chocolates Holiday Fundraiser

This is your last call to order Purdys Winter chocolates for our Fundraiser! Help support Connect Charter School by purchasing some adorable chocolates from us ready for the holiday’s and to stuff stockings, or for hostess gifts when you are heading out for dinner with friends. All the profit will go towards the school, so you can make an incredible impact while enjoying some tasty holiday fundraising treats.

Bottles to Recycle?

Did you know that you can donate your bottle recycling to Connect Charter School through Skip the Depot and they will even pick them up!! You can find out more on the Skip the Depot website.
