SCHOOL COUNCIL & PARENT SOCIETY MEETING – Moved to Tuesday, Feb 27
All parents are de-facto members of the School Council and Parent Society, and are invited to tune into our next virtual meeting. Principal Shannon Bennett will give an update on school happenings, with an open Q&A. What’s on your mind? What would you like to see at the school? Want to pitch into any upcoming events or suggest something? Join us! A Google Meet link will be sent to all parents prior to the meeting.
THRIVE PARENT PROGRAM & STUDENT MOVIE NIGHT – Thursday, March 7
What do our students learn about self-awareness, self-management and resiliency? Our next parent enrichment event will answer these questions and provide tools for parents to provide continued support at home. Join the Connect parent community for this engaging discussion facilitated by Jill Mitchell, developer of the THRIVE program. Jill has been leading THRIVE activities out at FEC, supporting teachers with in-classroom programming and is excited to extend THRIVE to parents.
As for the kids… movies, snacks & supervision! Students will vote this week between 5 movies: Indiana Jones & the Dial of Destiny, Jumanji: Next Level, Migration, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse and Mario Bros: The Movie.
Next week, we will open the RSVP form and provide a dinner order option from one of our Healthy Hunger / Fun Lunch vendors. Stay tuned!

CELEBRATE – Connect turns 25 in 2024!
We’re looking forward to the next events, planning in conjunction with the school administration.
FEC Family BBQ: Saturday, May 25: 11am-3pm. Mark your calendar to join us as we have fun in the field – check out the new ropes course, visit the places your kids talk about from camps, and enjoy lunch with the school community. We are looking into bus transportation from the school to make it easy for everyone to attend. If you’d like to help organize, please let us know!
Parent Cocktail Party: date TBD. Any keen party planners out there? We are currently looking at venue and probable dates in late April.
