This Week's Highlights

April 22nd is Earth Day. All students will engage in different ways to learn about this important day.
5.1 and 5.2 head to the Lougheed House on Monday, April 22nd.
Grade 6 Immunizations (round 2) take place on Monday, April 22nd.
Grade 6 Online Overnight Camp Parent Information Session takes place on Monday, April 22nd from 6:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. A link will be shared with families through messenger.
There is a double's badminton tournament on Tuesday, April 23rd. Communication would have been shared with families who have students on the team.
Save the date for our Online School Council and Parent Society AGM scheduled at 6:30 on Tuesday, April 23rd. The link will be shared by messenger.
5.3 and 5.4 head to the Lougheed House on Wednesday, April 24th.
4.3. and 4.4 Thrive Day 3 takes place at Weaselhead Flats on Wednesday, April 24th.
Thank you school council! We've ordered a gaga ball pit for our school site and look foward to its arrival in June.
Exciting news! Alberta Education has noted our work in the Mental Wellness Grant and will be working with us to develop a video to showcase our Thrive Days. We feel honoured to be chosen. One class in grade 5 and grade 7 will be going for a Thrive day to work with the film crew to capture the learning experience.
You are invited to participate in an online survey about the future of cellphone use in elementary, junior high, and senior high schools. You can access the survey at Survey Link. Please share this information with staff and parents and encourage them to share their views. The survey will be open until May 3, 2024. SCHOOL COUNCIL & PARENT SOCIETY UPDATE

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Meat Sale! Its great to see there is still interest in bringing this fundraising opportunity to our community.

Please be on the lookout for invitations to the Parent Social which were sent home this week (but all the details below anyway)

FUNDRAISERS

Did the snow make you want to go somewhere warm? Buy a WestJet Raffle ticket! 2nd prize $500! Deadline is May 6.

Did the melting of the snow making you think about spring? Take part in our Spring Plant Sale! Order until April 28.

EVENTS – Celebrate Connect turning 25!

Parent Social: Monday, May 6: 6-8:30pm at the Inn on Officer’s Garden. Join other parents, teachers and staff for a fun evening of dinner and drinks. Ticket sales close next week! – buy them now via e-transfer to schoolcouncil@connectcharter.ca, or drop a cash/cheque at the school. Tickets $75 per person. Optionally you may also gift a teacher ticket for $50 or contribute to a fund for subsidized families to attend (tickets distributed at school discretion). Be sure to include your name and email address with your payment so that we can email you a confirmation. Spread the word!

FEC Family BBQ: Saturday, May 25: 11am-3pm. Have fun at camp and enjoy lunch with the school community. This is an awesome opportunity to familiarize yourself with an important part of the Connect experience. Bus transportation will be provided from the school, or you can drive yourself. FREE for everyone, RSVP will be required.

MEETINGS – Join us to stay informed!

AGM for School Council & Parent Society: Tuesday, April 23 at 6:30pm. Directors and officers will be elected for the upcoming school year. Contact us if you are interested in any committees, at-large positions or director roles. There’s always room at this party!
