Keeping Our Students Safe

With darker mornings upon us, we ask everyone driving around our school to be especially alert for students walking to school or being dropped off. Please slow down, watch carefully for pedestrians, and help us keep our school community safe.

To reinforce the importance of visibility, next week Connect will provide students with reflective stickers to bring home. Families can decide whether to add these to backpacks or clothing to help students be more visible during their journeys to and from school.

Student-Led Clubs Are Underway!

Student-led clubs are up and running at Connect! Several times throughout the year, students have the opportunity to find a teacher or staff member to support them in leading a club based on a shared interest.

Clubs typically take place at lunch and bring students of different ages together to connect, explore interests, and build community. Our morning announcements share which clubs are running each day, and on any given day, there are several opportunities for students to get involved.

We also recognize the value of outdoor recess. Many students prefer spending that time outside with friends, enjoying the physical and social benefits of being outdoors. As an outdoor-focused school, all students are expected to go outside for recess unless they are participating in a supervised club or activity.

Human Sexuality and Polar Bear Club Permission Forms

Human Sexuality and Polar Bear Club permission forms have now been shared with families.

Please log in to PowerSchool to review and respond to these forms. A reminder that Human Sexuality programming requires parents to opt in.

Grade 9 Overnight Camp

Welcome back to our Grade 9.1 and 9.2 students, who enjoyed an overnight experience at Camp Connect!

Thank you to the parent volunteers and staff who made this experience possible. We appreciate the time, energy, and care involved in supporting our students at camp.

Thank You for Joining Us at Parent Coffee

Thank you to the parents who joined us for Parent Coffee on Friday morning. We appreciate your interest, involvement, and the opportunity to connect with families in our school community.

Our next Parent Coffee will take place on Friday, December 4, from 8:30–9:30 a.m. in the Learning Commons. We hope to see you there!
