It has been an eventful week, with Welcome Assemblies, morning parent coffees, food trucks and Meet the Team, and our first whole-school assembly of the year — complete with the annual teacher skit!
We also welcomed our new bus drivers and reviewed safe and respectful bus practices with students on each route.
We have lots coming up over the next few weeks. Our leadership team strives to make these weekly updates accurate, concise, and easy for families to access.
Community Appreciation
Thank you to School Council and our Playground Committee for organizing the Meet the Team food trucks and fundraising opportunities.
Thank you as well to the parents who participated in the annual Camp Connect Work Bee, helping prepare camp to welcome our students.
Drop-Off & Bus Safety Reminder
Families are reminded to drop students off on 34th Street to keep the bus area clear and help ensure students can arrive safely.
This week, we will also begin practising our school safety procedures, including fire drills.
Fall Camps
A reminder that students cannot ride the school bus with their camp gear.
Students should be dropped off at school ideally just before 8:30 a.m.
Campers will be picked up between 2:30 and 3:00 p.m.

Morning Parent Coffee
We invite all parents to join us in the Learning Commons for our first Morning Parent Coffee on Friday, September 4th from 8:30a.m. -9:30a.m. in the learning commons.
There is no agenda — it is simply an opportunity to chat with the leadership team, ask questions, and connect with other families.
Welcome Back Connect Charter Students!
Playground Update — What a Start!
Thank you to everyone who supported our 50/50 raffle at Meet the Team last night! We sold almost $2,000 in tickets on our very first night! The raffle runs until October 9, with half the pot going to one lucky winner and the other half supporting our new playground.
Upcoming chances to buy tickets:
Sept. 4 | 8:30–9:30 a.m. — Parent Coffee
Sept. 23 | 8:30–9:15 a.m. — Grade 4 Camp Drop-Off
Tickets are also available through our office team during the school day.
A reminder that 50/50 tickets are sold in person only and are cash only for purchases under $75. E-transfers can be accepted for purchases of $75 or more. Purchasers must be 18+.
And in case you missed our big news: we were awarded a $125,000 CFEP grant! This is an incredible boost toward our $500,000 playground goal, and we are so grateful for the continued support of our community.
