How to Apply to Connect Charter School

  • Admission to our Grade 4 program is determined through an annual lottery, with priority given to siblings.
    • The Lottery for Grade 4 is open January 1–January 10 of your child’s Grade 3 year.
    • To participate, you must submit a formal Lottery Application.
  • If your child is not in their grade 3 year (younger or in grade 4-9) you can submit an Expression of Interest/General Application. This can be submitted at any time after your child’s birth to receive future admissions notifications.

Timeline/Application Process for Grade 4 Admission

January 1 – January 10 (of your child’s Grade 3 year) Grade 4 Lottery Open.

  • Parents who wish to have their child included in the lottery for Grade 4 admissions must apply through the PowerSchool application link for the appropriate year.

Mid-January (of Your child’s Grade 3 Year) Grade 4 Lottery Run:

  • After the draw, families will be notified of their placement.
  • We intake 104 students each Grade 4 year.
  • We are continuing to look for opportunities to expand our capacity.

Note: Siblings of current students will be sorted to a priority sibling list each year. The lottery will determine all subsequent placements. Please see our Admissions Procedures for full details on siblings.

Late-January (of Your child’s Grade 3 Year) Information Gathering for Parents and Students

  • Parent Information Session  mandatory Parent Information Session held before the end of January. All parents of students processed through the lottery will be invited to the Parent Information Session. Attendance at this evening session is mandatory in order for a child’s name to remain on the prospective student list. This session is in-person.
  • School tours – daytime tours are scheduled and offered to students and parents; these are optional, private tours are not offered

February 5 (of your child’s Grade 3 Year) Non-Negotiable Deadline for Admission Documents

  • The first 250 names from the lottery list will be invited to submit an intake package through our registration portal. This is a Pre-Registration form with admission documents (including a Student Profile Questionnaire, current and previous report card, copy of birth certificate, student writing sample) 
  • The Pre-Registration Form with admission documents is due by February 5 of your child’s Grade 3 year.

February-March (Of your Child’s Grade 3 Year): Applications are reviewed and placement offers begin March 1.

  • All Pre-Registration forms (intake packages) are reviewed by administration. 
  • If we are able to offer your child a placement, you will be contacted via email.

April (Of Your Child’s Grade 3 Year): Registration period

  • Registration forms and fee payment for the following school year opens for approximately 10 days.

FAQ's

At present, we intake 104 students into Grade 4 each year. There are 4 classes of 26 students in every grade. We are continuing to look for opportunities to grow to additional campuses.

General Applications are ongoing. For an application to the Grade 4 lottery, an application must be received between January 1 – January 10 of your child’s Grade 3 year.

We will contact you by email. Please ensure the email(s) you provide are ones that you check frequently.

Connect Charter School does not offer before and after school programs.  It would be the responsibility of the parents to secure this care.  We do offer transportation services and some parents have used this service, if available in the desired area, for pick up and drop off at before/after care.
