Good afternoon Connect parents;I hope you and your families have been able to enjoy the fall break and take advantage of the extended fair weather to get out and enjoy some of what Calgary and the surrounding area has to offer. We are looking forward to greeting all our students tomorrow, and a glance at the school calendar shows some busy weeks ahead as many classes will be heading out to the Field Experience Center for another day of active outdoor learning. Volleyball will also be continuing with tournaments taking the place of individual games. Please visit the school calendar regularly at connectcharter.ca/calendar/ to stay current on all things Connect.
As we enter the next phase of the 2021-22 school year, we are still ensuring that all possible precautions are in place to keep students and staff safe from the spread of COVID-19. With vaccines being available to everyone 12 years of age and older, our primary concern is for the health and well being of our younger students. Given the composition of our school, this vulnerable population represents half of our students, and therefore we will be continuing with the safeguards we have had in place since the beginning of the school year: mandatory masks in school, physical distancing when possible, frequent handwashing and hand sanitizing, cohort groups for core classes, and mandatory daily screening for COVID symptoms.
Following are links to updated resources from Alberta Education and Alberta Health Services that provide detailed information for parents and school authorities on managing COVID-19 in school settings.

As mentioned in the last update before fall break, the Connect Charter School Board of Directors will be considering their position with respect to proof of vaccine policy and will inform the school community once a decision is reached.
