As you have likely heard in the media, there are now four presumptive cases of COVID-19 (novel Coronavirus) in Alberta. In spite of this recent development, the risk of contracting the virus remains low in Alberta, and most cases are being treated by affected individuals remaining at home in self-isolation until the symptoms have passed. Of utmost importance is the need to remain calm, stay informed, and recognize that we are fortunate to have a robust and proactive health care system that can respond to situations effectively.
We will be continuing to monitor development of the virus and will make decisions affecting school activities on the basis of advice from Alberta Health Services and the World Health Organization. Please go to
www.alberta.ca/coronavirus-info-for-albertans.aspx for additional information and updates.
This week, we are highlighting Inclusive Practices at Connect Charter School. Our belief that inquiry-based learning benefits all learners has defined the evolution of the school for the past seven years.
